Dr. Salvador Martinez is a bioinformatics leader with 22 years of experience developing advanced computational solutions for proteomics data management, analysis, and integration. As Head of Bioinformatics at Yatiri Bio, he designs and implements software platforms and analytical pipelines that transform large‑scale proteomics datasets into actionable biological insights, supporting biomarker discovery and translational research.
Before joining Yatiri Bio, Dr. Martinez spent nearly eight years at The Scripps Research Institute, where he developed advanced data analysis tools, statistical models and data visualization tools for proteomics. Earlier, he served as a bioinformatician at Spain’s National Center for Biotechnology (CSIC), where he played a leading role in the bioinformatics support for more than 20 proteomics core-facilities in Spain (ProteoRed consortium) and was highly involved in the HUPO Proteomics Standards Initiative (HUPO-PSI) and developed widely adopted tools, data standards and data reporting guidelines for the global proteomics community.
Dr. Martinez has authored more than 40 peer‑reviewed publications and is recognized for his expertise in algorithm design, statistical data analysis, and machine learning applications for proteomics and systems biology.
